More than words March challenge

Word Inspiration: Am much inspired by Fantasy world from my childhood. Fantasy means dreams and Imaginations to me.The focal image depicts my kind of Fantasy, which I housed inside the tangling mosses with underlying textural layers. The word band focuses on the inner meaning: “Reality has limits and Imagination is boundless”

Being “Anything Festive” is the challenge theme, i could only think about the Decorative lanterns during this Ramadan Season here in UAE.

Altered a wooden lantern and have given it a Mixedmedia makeover.

Altered Wreath

Hi Friends,

Am back with yet another mixed media project. This time altered a round chopping board as well as the Grape wine wreath.

Must say i fell in love with this 8″ wreath and bought just to alter it for my project!

Amazingly it turned out well!!

Gifted this to a Dear soul for her birthday today
” Happy Birthday SivaPriya”

Base is a 10″ round chopping board. I bought it for making into a wall art, but it now houses this wreath so beautifully.

It looks this plain in the beginning and its the look of it, after light paste stenciling and white crackle paste textures.

Yup i converted its plain back surface like above, by stenciling and waxing with Prima waxes.
That metal embellishment is to hide the brand inscription there, and so it could be centrally placed.

And below are closer shots of the Mixed media piece, which i thoroughly enjoyed making it!

Altered Journal Cover

Hi Crafters,

Just a week before reached UAE home. Waiting to break my slumber and so this Mixed media project today.

Altered my new Art Journal cover using Art alchemy waxes goodness.

I love the subtle peek of the various gorgeous colors against the background!!!

Took A5 kraft journal cover.
Prepped with black gesso.
Stenciled with TCW Art is stencil using Prima Modeling paste.
Added centrally a cheese cloth and brushed the whole surface with black gesso again.
Applied Prima clear crackle at random places for extra textures.
Added Dusty Attic chipboards,Resin pieces, Metal embellies, art stones using Multimedia Matte.
Brushed all again with black gesso and applied series of LSG sprays.
Then came Prima art alchemy waxes for the textures to show through.

Hi Friends!

Third post for Today!! Yippie!!

Made this wall art 15 days before and posting it today.

Recently sent a parcel to India for a dear crafter friend. Made this Project especially for her..She is none other than, Jasleen of Happily ever crafter

Thanks a ton Dearie…It gave me joy more than when i made it!! Happy to know you liked it!!

Used 6×6 Kappa board which i bought from Anandha stationary for the base here.
Coated with Prima art alchemy Metallic copper as base layer.
Then brushed Clear gesso to make the base take up further layers of inks, sprays, mists
Prima Clear crackle textured applied centrally and topped it with Drywall tape pieces.

Itsy bitsy ornated oval chipboard is coated with gesso and used as base for the focal element.
The swirly heart chipboard is a gift from a dear crafter friend, Pooja Duddalwar. Thank u dear
That is from 2crafty chipboard which is sprayed with LSG – Queen of Kissin Hearts -Red and thrice clear embossed using UTEE for that sheen and shine
The wings resin is brushed with Inkagold -Gold and added to the base oval chipboard and onto it added the swirly heart chipboard.

The wooden alphas are gessoed and inked with Fired brick distress inks.
Then random stuffs were added such as cheesecloth, gold embossed flower, biege bow, some sequins, metal embellishments.
LSG Glory of golden seas gold is sprayed around the heart.
Random stamping using Bobunny script stamp.

The edges of the board were distressed with archival ink, stenciled with Stamplorations criss cross stencil, and finally gold embossed randomly on edges.
Finally some white gesso spaltters.
Few clear droplets added for final touch.
