Love Themed card :)

Hi Crafty Peeps!

April showers brings May flowers!!

This part of the world is experiencing some sweet crazy weather for past couple of weeks and its bringing in such joy!! This gloomy rainy weather made me to brought in same mood in my card too. Hope you like it!

Indian craft room Coaster ride has brought in a new theme with a twist this time and its hosted by Sharada Dilip 🙂

Am completely in love with the theme 🙂

Hostess comes up with a Elemental inspiration and the twist is to make cards only with any 3 elements pick.

Now onto my card 🙂

(My choice of 3 elements are blackboard, a red heart, color palette in shelf)

Took a watercolor card ,quarter inch less than the A2 sized vanilla base card. Stamped Eiffel tower from IBS -Paris love set. Sponged with Momento london fog heavily at top and gradually faded diagonally at the corner.

Stamped the couple with umbrella on a wc paper, colored using Zig clean colour brushes and fussy cut with and mounted on the frontpanel near Eiffel tower using foam adhesives to create a depth to the scene.

Then took a scrap black cs and created a chalk board effect using Colorbox white frost pigment ink by stamping the sentiment on it. A UTEE embossed red heart is popped near the sentiment. And this black cs added to card panel using foam adhesives. Its then matted on A2 sized vanilla colored cs.

Hope you are inspired well to create a card using this time Story board 🙂

Our sponsor for this time is Rainbowcraftykari with a 500GC. Do play along to stand for a chance to win this.

Happy Crafting guys!

Flowers!!!

Oh yeah…Officially Spring has sprung is many parts of world 🙂

Am still cherishing the wonderful Spring season, which i had experienced in Taiwan…Oh yeah! My love wedded life started there in 2008 March…with a perfect Spring start 🙂 So those memories are etched in heart with cherry blossoms and apple blossoms and their sweet aromas.

Its a happy custom from my end, to gift my Son’s class teacher with a handmade gift every year at Final Open House Meeting…This time too, made a Floral LO (gone for framing) and a small post it note holder. You can check my previous year handmade gifts here and here .

Mam has sent me few pics last year and i made those as a collage. I just wanted to make this a sweet remembrance. Am forever grateful to her and blessed beyond words to have her as my son’s class teacher. She has 45+ years of experience in teaching and she is one great asset to the whole school.

8×8 pp used for the floral layout. Floral spray is made completely handmade. Am missing these quite a while. I love to do handmade florals and atlast used this opportunity to do handmade blooms. Cheerylynn Tearose medium die used to make the small blooms. MFT petal party is used to make the yellow flowers. Joycraft dies are used for big roses. Flowers sponged, dry embossed, shaped to make Roses.
All leaves are from cheerylynn ivy florish. They are colored using Distress ink – peeled paint and versafine pearlescent olive chalk inks.
3×3 inch post it note is used for the post it note holder. Its decorated with a cherrylynn italian doily and topped with handmade florals.
Am yet to gift her. Hope she likes it 🙂

Do hop into blog to get inspired and play along the challenge.

This month’s inspiration:

My take on this 🙂

Took 6″ square white cardbase, matted with Stenciled roses pink dp. Love to keep the Tulip as focal element. Colored the base image with Zigcleancolor brush pens.

Stenciled the surrounding using Ranger pigment ink in pink and rounded the corners. Colored the petal portion alone from another set, fussy cut and added using foam adhesives.

Wink of stella clear applied liberally and glossy accents touches to finish off the card. Sentiment from the same set is used.

Floral Wreath :)

Hi Friends!

Today ICR coaster ride DT inspiration – second dose for the current challenge – Anything goes with Flowers but with a Twist of NO to cards 🙂

This time, my take on Story board is a Floral wreath using 4″ stryofoam ring which i was hoarding for almost 5 yrs 🙂 Oh yeah! Big hoarder here !!

Poked 2 holes in the stryofoam ring and inserted a white organza ribbon, knotted and sealed at the open ends using hot glue gun, and this acts as the hanger.

Then wrapped polka dotted yellow and olive green ribbon around the stryofoam ring using minimal use of hot glue gun.
Made few roses and flowers using Cheerylynn dies, Joycraft dies and Memory box dies. Sponged, Misted, shaped to form the flowers.

Few Cheerylynn ivy florishes are diecut and sponged using Peeled paint DI, Evergreen bough DI. Few MFT fancy florishes in green were used. Yellow Stick pollens are wrapped around the ring and flowers, florsihes, leaves are topped on that using Hot glue gun.

A big Fancy butterfly from IO used for final touch.

Hope you like it!
