Treat boxes and Post-It Notes Holders :)

Hi All!

Today’s post is not a card, but a quick attempt to make treat boxes and post-it notes holder. Its for my son’s class teacher and teacher assistant. Today we went to receive his progress report and admission card for KG-II. Oh ya…He successfully completed his KG-I 🙂 Feeling accomplished….

Seen many tutes in net and its my version of those using my own measurements. Used Patterned papers from Papermania and for Post it notes, layered Digital freebie on top of White CS.

Wanted to keep it simple and sweet, so added single flower on each, punched border, pearl centres and red grossgrain ribbon. Added Venetian frame label as banners for sentiment which is sponged using Wild honey Distress ink and Lady bug momento ink. For closure of those treat boxes and post-it notes, used partial diecutting of the same die used for sentiment banner and velcro added inside. Added sentiment – Best wishes on the punched border on Post it notes.

As a final touch, added a distressed banner with my little one’s handwriting saying ” Love U Mam, Adithya” and candies in Treat boxes 🙂

Supplies

White CS – Fabriano Brusto
Pattern papers – Digital freebie, Papermania
Dies – Venetian Label Frame -Itsy Bitsy
Sentiment – Used “Thank U” sentiment  from Small labels and “Best Wishes” from Butterfly wings
Wild Honey Distress ink , Lady Bug momento ink

Hope you like it!

Valentine Card

A valentine card for the valentine month. Just 4 days away for my Wedding Anniversary and so this quick card with roses again 🙂

Made an easel card with roses and fluorishes. The card front has a pale pink pp whose edges are distressed and on it matted another red digi freebie. The lattice is made from tessatina border die and its added to the circle die and made as a focal point.

Cheery lynn gardenia strip die is used to make roses and tropical florishes diecuts are added in different tones. Red florish diecut and paper pieced butterfly are from DCWV Mariposa collection.

MS double arches border punch is used to create a lace with the same pink pp from Zephyr paper pad and added just below the focal lattice.

Sentiment is stamped on the venetian label diecut and placed on a pp from Simple stories paperpad and this acts as a stopper showcasing the roses on card front 🙂 Few pearls for final touch.

White on White card :)

This time its a monochromatic card…and its a WOW card again..Earlier cards you can see here and here.
This card is a combination of dies, border punch and embossing.
Diwali sweets and savories preparation is well started yesterday at my home and just squeezed my time to do this card as a bit relief from my hand ache…Ya crafting is a therapy too 🙂

Thinking of my Sweet granny at this moment as she used to do so many varieties of sweets and savories for Diwali and she used to start 4-5 days before Diwali and inbetween there will be lot of neighbour friends asking for recipes, trial versions of those recipes will be going on at my home…She never complained of handache at all…She was an expert cook 🙂 Really miss u dear ma…

Coming to my card

White CS is embossed using spots embossing folder and on it used a negative of 2nd large Timeless rectangle Spellbinder die as frame. To it added the tessatina border as trellis. White doily is added and mounted this on top of the base white CS whose one end is punched using MS double arches.

A white satin ribbon is pleated and a bow is added on the middle of pleats and its hanging over the edge with the punched border. Frame Venetian panel taken whose edges are embossed using Zing clear EP using heat gun and on to it added the sentiment.

Tropical flourish, mum bloom and few small flowers are added with a butterfly at a corner. Rhinestone, few pearls are as final touch.

Hope you like it.

Altered box

Wanted to share an altered box.

Top view:

Side view of the box:

This is the old cartoon box which i have upcycled.

For the base, i embossed the white CS with darice embossing folder and distressed completely with spun sugar. Scalloped oval dies of 2 different sizes are taken and distressed it with victorain velvet, Sentiment is then stamped on the smaller die and placed at centre around which the added big blooms and smaller flowers, few fancy flourish diecuts and olive leaves diecuts. The scalloped oval is accented with few white pearls. MS butterflies are added in purple, white colors as embellishment with few pink pearls.  Around the edges and to make it seamless, added baby pink washi tape and covered the flap wholly to insert inside the box.

Have decorated the sides of box with base white CS and on it decorated border stickers are added in purple and pink around the sides. Now ready to be filled with Candies.

Quilled Flowers

Very Happy New year to all my readers and blogger friends…Hope this new year brings all joy and harmony  to us.

2012 has gone so fast for me as 8 months i stayed in India after my Taiwan relocation and came here to UAE and this 4 months here gone super fast. And now, my little one got admission in International Indian School and so will be going to KG from April.

For all these days, i have been quilling and gifting for my near and dear ones only both in Taiwan and India. Orders came my way, though i dont do quilling on a monetary basis. Either they picked up the original piece or asked for a same color, pattern work, So there wasn’t any chance to post about those in my blog as i never like reciprocating the same piece again…

And now year’s first post and of course, my first customized order for a quilled work came my way 🙂 seeing my Blog!!!

Updation: After Framing:

Though a very simple quilled work, am happy for bringing out the smile and happiness in my client after getting this work.

And for the first time, i used Needle tool instead of Slotted one…and loved the result.

And did you notice that, oh yah…Its my brand new digital watermark. Love it a lot. Thank You, Nupur Priya for making this lovely unique one 🙂

Hope you all like it…

Hope this new year brings many more chance and ways to improvise myself in this wonderful art. Tentative intimation about UAE quilling exhibition has come and am working on for that now. So will post my works  after the exhibition which may held in last week of Jan or 1st week of Feb…Wish me Good Luck!
