Floral Smiles : CAS card

Hi Friends,

Made a CAS card today using Mudra’s Hibiscus stampset. Did Noline coloring technique.
Over to my card,

  • Stamped Mudra’s Hibiscus stamp onto watercolor paper using Antique Linen DI for attempting Noline coloring technique.
  • Colored using new to my stash- Fabercastell Watercolors.
  • Fussy cut and splashed generously with watered down white acrylics.
  • Took a Tag from watercolor cardstock and sponged Mustard seed DI over the corners leaving centers white.
  • Stamped sentiment from Kaisercraft using Memento Black ink.
  • Splashed with watered down green ink over the sponged areas.
  • Topped the Tag die-cut with Hibiscus using double sided adhesive.
  • Then this Tag matted over White cardbase of 4×6″ card using Foam adhesives.
Added few dew droplets to finish off the card.
Hope you like it!

Mixed Media card : Love

Hi Friends!!

After a long time, i made a card just for creating….Yes just for the joy of making it. Not as DT commitment 😉

Love card with a mixed media touch.

Straight to the card 🙂

  • Took A2 white cardbase and matted with Papericious Naturals pattern paper- Denim.
  • Its again layered with another pp from same collection, which is pleated and added to the focal panel.
  • Used cheesecloth, which is tucked under pleating.
  • A circular resin piece is added to the central doily with a tulle as base layer.

  • Stenciled a portion of focal panel with Modelling paste using TCW Tile Stencil to create a texture on the otherwise plain base.
  • Few flowers, florish diecuts are added with a cute little biege bow.
  • Dry brushed gesso on flowers.
  • Added Prima mini artstones are added for little interest.
  • IBS sentiment is stamped on the vellum and added over resin.
  • Kaisercraft butterfly is stamped and colored with Zig brush pens, is mounted on panel.
  • Few enamel dots are added to finish  off the card.
Few close ups just for you 🙂

 Hope you like it!!

MHK June Release – Open Bloom

Am excited to welcome you to the June 2016 MHK Designs release. We have some really fun sets to check over the next few days, as well as chances to win either one of the sets OR all of them!.

Open bloom is the focus digi design today 🙂

My take on this design:

Flowers are printed in different sizes and colored using Faber castell bicolor pencils. Sentiment directly printed on the focal panel and distressed at one end with Mustard Seed DI and arranged these flowers.

Then matted the focal panel on Beautiful brocade brown paper and then to A2 ivory card base.
This finishes off this simple card.
Hope you like it!

Dream Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Friends!

Today i have a Mixed media canvas, which is a Guest Design post at Lulupu – Craft Lounge .

Here’s a look at my MM canvas. Oh yeah…Tutorial too 🙂

Took 9.5 by 11.5 inches primed flat canvas.
Took Dylusions Lemon zest in a palette and Peeled paint Distress stain dabbed in craftmat. Using separate wet wipes swipped these mists from top to bottom of canvas. This gives a neat coverage.
Then took a 5”x7 “ white cs and used Sizzix- TimHoltz mixmedia thinlits dies to diecut it diagonally.

Used Wendy Veicchi Embossing paste (translucent) and TimHoltz  Honeycomb stencil in the diagonal portion of cs. It gives such lovely sheen after drying.
When the paste is still wet, sprinkled generously Prima- Finnabair Mini artstones on it. Leave it to dry as such.
After drying, smooshed the versafine pad directly on the diecut areas and heat embossed it using Ranger Silver Embossing powder. Then mist the cs with LSG spray – Azure sea asters and sponged the edges with frayed burlap distress ink. And then it was matted with a pp, whose edges are distressed with Rich cocoa momento ink.
Using Sizzix –Pete Hughes, Magical butterfly die, diecut the butterfly from a white cs. Colored using Metallic Gelatos and heat embossed twice using Ranger’s UTEE clear. Prima junkyard metal zipper – Inspire, is smooshed with Picket fence stain is added as Butterfly body using foam adhesive.
A resin piece randomly colored using Prima Art alchemy paint– Steampunk copper is added on the matted cardstock with  ivory sisal at centre. Butterfly is then topped on it.
Few handmade florals are made using Sizzix- TH Tattered florals – diecut from pp, sponged with Shell pink, edges sponged with frayed burlap Distress ink, shaped and used pink rhinestones for centres.  Sizzix – TH Elegant flourishes die is used to diecut from a white cs, sponged slightly with frayed burlap DI.
Leaves are from Sizzix Garden greens, diecut from pp, stamped with Bobunny script stamp randomly using Archival ink -sepia, sponged with Frayed burlap DI on edges.
TimHoltz word band is added to cs using natural hemp twine. Flowers, flourishes , leaves are arranged as per pic with few crocheted ribbon and white tulle. Stamped Kaisercraft stamp on a ivory cs and sponged with peeled paint DI and Archival sepia ink, added using foam adhesive.  Negative of leaf diecut is used to stencil at canvas corners using peeled paint ink. Same ink splatters finally on the canvas. Edges of the canvas is smooshed with vintage photo Distress stain for that final framed look.

Hope you liked the stepwise instruction for the simple Layered MM canvas .

Floral Layout, Desktop Calendar with Post it notes holder !

Today’s post is not about cards or canvas, rather few gifts with handmade flowers.

Made these for my little one’s teachers and KG supervisior as tomorrow is Open house and we would be meeting all staff and get his progress report, New school uniforms and Books 🙂 He is way more excited to meet his teachers and friends 🙂

This is the picture taken with the class teacher and friends on his 6th birthday and so i felt this would be apt to be framed with some handmade flowers using Spellbinder dies for large blooms and blue flowers are from Cheerylynn Medium Rose die. Leaves are form Spellbinders foliage die and all these are stuck on 8×8 mariposa pp and then mounted to Fabriano Brown CS.

The red blooms are distressed with Worn lipstick DI, Orange blooms from Spiced Marmalade DI, Blue blooms from Tumbled glass DI. There are misted with water, distressed and then shaped.
Now i got it framed too and all set to gift away tomorrow 🙂

Next is the Easel desktop calendars with Post it notes holders.

There are 4.5″ square Easel cards with Spellbinder die Majesty matted for focal panel with few handmade blooms using Cheerylynn Designs Medium rose die and Ivy florish die.

Except the blues, rest of them are made from CLD Medium rose dies and sponged with Colorbox pigment inks.

Hope you like this !!
