Explosion box and Miniature garden

Easy to guess from title…Yess…. i wish to quill a miniature garden in an explosion box. As the box is my first time try, i wanted to made it as simple one….
Few closer views
Made trellis with my MS layered arches punch. Climbers are made with floral wire which are covered with green floral tape. Leaves and flowers are from punches. Can you see that tiny one lying on grass…Oh yay…Quilled mushroom on several grass layers which are finely fringed ones from green cardstock. For fringing, i used Fiskars spring scissors, its really like a breeze if you are doing lots of fringing. The handle is made in such a way to ease the action and the spring used there gives such a comfort while fringing.
Butterflies are punched out. Decorated the lid with the tile punch and other punched out bits.
Hope you all like..

Quilled basket & flowers

This time i wanted to braid and weave…Oh yay done a quilled basket by weaving white strips and braided by interwining 2 white and 1 baby pink strips. Kind of monochromatic theme with support of White. Used different shades of pink in this project for base as well as for flowers. Flower centres are pink pearls, made 2 punched flowers, 2 open loop flowers and other quilled flowers. To give a popped up look, given foam adhesive backing to flowers and leaves are stuck only at midrib. The punched border is from a parchment paper and its matted with a pink cardstock below and a white handmade paper on top.

Simple Folded Paper Frame

Is this lovely…I have come out of my comfort zone of Quilling and started to explore the other forms of crafts too… Its just my trial with my new mini punches.

The flowers, butterflies, leaves and stamens are all punched out and for the first time tried to make this simple folded frame to give a popped up effect in card. Used my new MS scoreboard for scoring. Lavender, Light green, Blue, Baby pink, Orange, yellow colors are used for flowers. I have superimposed one above another to give a nice effect.

First Blogoversary..Remembrance Day…

Its my blog’s first birthday…More than anything…its a great remembrance day for me…The quilling has turned my world into a very beautiful place…even my boredom into an artistic piece of work…
With just 6 months of active blogging (Sep-March), 42 blog posts, it had hit a century blog admirers very recently…This would not be possible without the wonderful visitors and blogger friends like you all…

Thank you all so much for all your support, encouragement and hope this journey continues well with all your  wishes and constant supportive words.

What i can give to you all on this special day of mine, other than preparing a small quilled card..
Here for you …

Tiny quilled roses bouquet card…

Tag at the back of card

Made a pocket to hold a tag at the back of the card to leave message…
Hope you all like it.

I love QUILLING and Love to express my LOVE through Quilling….

So, on this special day, i loved to contibute few of my quilled flowers and leaves to LOVE Quilling Charity of Japan.

Its my way of expression….through EXPRESSIVE CREATIONS!!!

This charity is started to pay back the love for the people who make donations for Japan’s tsunami and Earthquake victims. The charity gathers quilled flowers, leaves and insects and make small envelopes, cards as a way of gratitude towards donations made.

I can very well recall the day of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011 as Taiwan also gave alert warning throughout the country and we had many earthquake aftershocks. After a day, warning signals were withdrawn and the country was declared safe from tsunami.

Here is my small contribution of quilled flowers and leaves for this wonderful team of people termed Love Quilling Charity. These are ready to make their journey to Japan soon. If you love to express yours, then check here to contribute.

And a special thanks to my dear Blogger pal Suganthi of Daydreams…her constant encouraging words has turned into this one year old blog of mine!!!

Thanks once again dear blogger pals and visitors!!!!
