Uniko :Guest Designer : ‘Tis the Season

 Hi Crafty Friends,

Am excited to guest design today at Uniko Studio .

Made a christmas themed Kraft card with Prisma pencil coloring. Added Diamond Twinklets for the much needed Sparkle. The colored image is a digital stamp whereas the sentiment is from Uniko’s christmas stampset.

If you are a regular visitor to my blog, by now you know I love pencil coloring and of course coloring on Kraft is my favorite go-to! And…Clicking umpteen pics of my projects is another favorite of mine!!

  • Printed digital stamp onto kraft cardstock, colored using Prisma colored pencils.
  • Diecut the colored cardstock using Spellbinders Elegant Twist Rectangle die.
  • Diecut another gold mirror cardstock with the same die and assemble as shown here.
  • Matted these panels over to the Maroon A2 sized top fold cardbase.
  • Stamped the sentiment from Uniko’s Most Wonderful clear stampset using Memento Black ink.
  • Then to the hand drawn snow, Added Prima Light paste and sprinkled Diamond Twinklets for the sparkly snow effect.
  • This finishes off my card.
Hope you like my take on the challenge theme.
Would love to see you at Uniko Studio blog.

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace: Delicate Impressions Collection

We’re excited to introduce another Glimmer Hot Foil collection! The Delicate Impressions Collection has five sets of Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. The fifth set, Heart Melt Sentiments, has four unique phrases with matching dies. The other four sets are designed to create borders and accents that can be used on cards from A2 to 5 x 7-inches. Each elegant motif can be layered with itself or mix with others in the same collection or beyond.

Glimmer Hot Foil Plates are metal plates used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  Roll the Glimmer machine base through your die cut machine to deliver its beautiful design. Refer to Compatibility Charts on Spellbinders’ website, to see if your machine is a match.

Our Creative Team members will showcase their creations made with the Delicate Impressions Collection today. For those of you who enjoy watercolors, we are using Jane Davenport Watercolors to highlight our projects. See if you can identify what techniques are being used!

Becca Feeken sent over these stunning plates and dies for me to try.

Each of our Creative Team members will show you their take on cards made with a Collection.

My take for Today:

Here is what the glimmer plates and dies look like:

My project for Today uses Filigree Crescent Band Glimmer Hot foil plate.

Have used Gold foil on DCWV Luxury stack patterned paper for the card.

For the 3D project, made a Pillow box using the same DCWV paper stack and topped with Elegant twist rectangle diecut and Heartfelt Sentiment Glimmer foil plate as Foiled diecut sentiment.

Designer Tip

Keep the foil as the same size as the foil plate to avoid overfoiling. Apply pressure slowly evenly

while sending into the die cutting machine. This gives a beautiful even foiling.

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace: Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh

If you haven’t already jumped into Christmas preparations, are you ready to sleigh it?  Today we are sharing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for November 2020 – Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh.  This one is a little bit different because it folds down flat for mailing as do all the dies in the 3D Vignette lines.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to create with.

Poinsettia Sleigh Details

This die can be used as flat detail on a 2D surface but transforms into a 3D show piece so easily that we’re happy you will have both options.  Becca traditionally creates a high end die that doubles as a decoration piece in November of each year.  Let’s just call it icing on the cake for the holidays.  It’s really a satisfying venture to grab a cup of coffee and sit down to put it together as it is to set it out on the table.

Today we want to inspire you to think of different combinations using the Poinsettia Sleigh.  Here’s what we had in mind:

  1. Table Center Piece
  2. Table Setting Favor
  3. Filled with Candy and Goodies
  4. Part of a Wonderland Menagerie
  5. Flat 2D on the front of a card

In the comments let us know how you think it should be used.

There are 21 dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh

My Project Today using the Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh:

Made a classic 3D shaped sleigh with the usual Red combo and Gold using Patterned papers and Gold Mirror cardstock. Absolutely loved making this sleigh.

I also made a Pop up slider card using these dies. For the card, I have used Navy blue, Sky-blue and Silver mirror cardtsock combos.

Hope you love as much as I love making it!

Used patterned papers, stamps and some pearls as accents.

P.S.  In the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Encouragement Facebook Group there are two Step-by-Step Tutorials that take a novice through creating some spectacular poinsettias.  I hope you’ll join the group so that you have both of those methods in your toolbox.  They’ll come in handy this Christmas Season.
