Altenew Build-A-Flower: Semi-Double Chrysanthemum Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Am SO excited and happy to be part of Altenew’s Build-A-Flower: Semi- Double Chrysanthemum Release Bloghop!

Am a sucker for flowers and Absolutely love Altenew’s varied range of products right from their brand launch. I feel so honoured and humbled by this Awesome opportunity.

You should have arrived from talented, Rachael Shedeed’s blog. Else if you are starting from here, I have a full blog hop list at the end of my post.

I have created a card today using Altenew Semi Double Chrysanthemum set.

Build-A-Flower: Semi-Double Chrysanthemum Product Description:

Love and flowers don’t need to be perfect, but these gorgeous florals come very close to perfection!

This layering stamp set features a beautiful 4-layer chrysanthemum and three 3-layer leaves to add to your handmade cards, scrapbook layouts, bullet journal pages, and other DIY paper crafting projects.

The Build-A-Flower: Semi-Double Chrysanthemum special edition stamp and die set is only sold as a bundle. It includes one 6″ x 8″ clear photopolymer stamp set (16 individual stamp images) and one coordinating die set (4 dies).

To create my card, I first stamped solid image of flowers followed by using second and third images, which are detailed layers. I used the Summer Afternoon mini ink cube set for the flowers. And then they were die cut using co-ordinating dies.

I did two such flowers and diecut using their co-ordinating dies and kept aside.

The green leaves are also from Semi-Double Chrysanthemum set, which were stamped onto white cardstock using Green Fields mini dye ink cube collections. They were also die cut using  co-ordinating dies.

The sentiment ‘Love’ is gold heat embossed on black cardstock and fussy cut it to give a defined look. The second part of sentiment is gold heat embossed onto a black cardstock strip.

Finally for the background, took Altenew Classy strips stencil and embossing paste and created a partial stencilling to give a subtle texture to the card.

Then added Brusho – Lime green color pigment onto a watercolor cardstock, to create the organic styled background on the stenciled areas. Left to air dry and trimmed the focal panel.

Matted this focal panel onto A2 sized black Top fold cardbase using foam adhesives.. Then arranged the flowers and leaves to get a desired look. Popped the fussy cut sentiment and sentiment strip as shown above using foam adhesives.

Finally added some black enamel dots to finish off the card.

And now for the most exciting part : Giveaway!

Happy Birthday Card : Stamplorations

Hiya Crafters,

Made a floral birthday card for today. Used a brand new Brustro Colored pencils,  from Creative Hands. These are proudly Made in India Wax based pencils.

I started my coloring with Bi colored pencils from Faber castell, then upgraded to 24 pencils of Polychromos. I felt so fortunate when my DH gifted me Polychromos 120 set + Prisma colored pencils 132 set for my 2017 Birthday. And then there is no looking back 🙂 My experiments with it are still continuing.

With regard to this new in town Brustro Colored pencils, it convinced me so much with it’s wide range of colors especially with Greens. The soft core wax based pencils gives rich color tones and work wonderfully for shading and blending. If you are yet to own Poly or Prisma, this 75 pencils set can be a great investment in testing Wax based pencils and can grow your coloring interest with this.

And…Over to my card for today 🙂

  • Stamped Stamplorations Blossoms Sprays#3 from Dee’s Artsy Impressions using Antique Linen onto a white cardstock.
  • Colored using New Brustro Colored pencils from Creative Hands .
  • Sentiment from IBS (a retired stamp )company using Mudra Jet black ink.
  • Trimmed and mounted this focal panel onto a Cairo Cream Top Fold A2 cardbase.
  • Few clear dew droplets are added as accents.
Hope you like it!
Happy Stamping!

Forever in Love – Altenew – Floral card

 Hi Friends,

Am here with a floral card and tried Negative Painting for the first time. Yesterday, Emily Midgett ‘s Altenew blogpost inspired me a lot. She generously shared her knowledge and immensely inspired me to give it a go today, as I was too intimidated to try this technique.

She focused on Negative painting and a contrast paler/muted/ floral spray. But I tried this with current Altenew challenge colors .

Over to my card,

  • Stamped roses from Altenew Forever in Love stampset onto watercolor paper using Antique Linen.
  • Watercolored the whole painting using Bright palette of Jane Davenport Watercolors.
  • Splashed generously white acrylic paint.
  • Stamped the sentiment from Altenew Beautiful day stampset.
  • Trimmed and matted over a A2 sized top fold Black cardbase.
Hope you like it!

Hugs & Kisses : Uniko Floral card

 Hiya Friends!

Am loaded with Guest Designing projects for next month and so squeezed in a bit of time for my personal project to play along few challenges in Blogland.

Over to my project,

Absolutely love pencil coloring as much as I love watercoloring. I love to experiment with different mediums and this peony bud was one of my favorite from Uniko stamps. I was using the large peony floral many a times and neglecting this small peony and today was the perfect time to do Pencil coloring with Prisma colored pencils.

  • Stamped on a fine grain watercolor cardstock using Antique Linen to do a online coloring using prisma colored pencils.
  • Colored using various shades of pinks and greens of Prisma colored pencils.
  • Splattered white acrylics over the floral liberally.
  • Stamped the sentiment from same stampset using Mudra Mai Jet black ink pad.
  • Matted over a black cardstock and then to a kraft A2 cardbase.
  • Few clear dew droplets and paper pieced butterflies to finish off the card.

Hope you like it!

Enjoy Little Things : Power Poppy

 Hi Friends!

Made a card today using a digital stamp , Trumpet Vine Visitor from Power Poppy.

This Trumpet vine digital took me back to my cherished childhood memories. We have a huge Honeysuckle Vine trellis in my garden. It’s bright inflorescence is such a sight to watch in our Indian Summer for its beauty of vivid reddish orange flowers filled with Bees and butterflies.

I framed the beautiful sentiment with florals in a delightful way. It’s one of my favorite quote from the  Wildflower Mini digital stampset .

Over to my card,

  • Printed the vine onto a watercolor cardstock with grayscale to attempt No line watercoloring using Karin Brushmarkers Pro.
  • Topped the watercoloring with Prisma colored pencils for the shadows.
  • Matted the panel onto a black cardstock and topped over a card, bit larger than A2 sized cardbase.
  • Few clear dew droplets are added as accents.
Hope you like it!

Kindness : Floral card

 Hiya Crafty peeps,

Back here again with a floral card. Current challenges in blogland inspired me to do today’s card.

Made use of a new Sizzix Embossing folder : Botanicals, a birthday gift from my dearest crafty pal, Jasleen.

Tried watercoloring over it, as I absolutely love the way the colors bleed and blend on Watercolor cardstocks.

Karin markers are my birthday gift from my DH and this card demanded using it. It’s so magical to see the way it works beautifully on Canson Montval watercolor paper.

It’s my first time watercoloring over Embossing folder.

Over to my card,

  • Dry embossed the watercolor cardstock using Sizzix Botanicals Embossing Folder.
  • Watercolored it using my new crafty stash addition : Karin markers. Love using it!!
  • Added white paint splatters over the panel.
  • Trimmed to fit A2 sized top fold cardbase.
  • Added the Hero Arts Kindness sentiment vellum strip over the embossed panel.
  • Mounted onto black A2 sized cardbase.
  • Few clear dew droplets added as accents.
Hope you like it!
