Pencil colored Floral card : Smile

Hiya Friends,

Lockdown and Social distancing are continuing and so the online classes for the kids have started at most Indian Schools here to keep them occupied at these unprecedented times. Am amazed by the ways, these Teachers co-ordinate and handle 28 kids at a time with their super informative and interesting classes. It took me back to my school days and I sat with my son for few of his classes and was taking notes.

Back to my card for today. This card’s color palette is inspired from ongoing Altenew Challenge.

  • Stamped Altenew Forever in Love Roses bunch onto Strathmore Toned gray sketch paper using Memento Tuxedo black ink.
  • Colored using Prisma colored pencils.
  • Die-cut the colored image using Spellbinders die for the framed edge look.
  • Then buffed the edges using the Colorbox-Frost white ink to keep the central floral areas darker and rest a faded look.
  • Then generously splashed white ink splatters over the colored florals.
  • Matted this panel onto a black cardstock using liquid adhesive.
  • The sentiment from same stampset is stamped using Mudra Mai Black ink.
  • Then this focal panel added to the white A6 sized Top fold card base.
  • Finally dew drops added for interest.
Hope you like it!

Pencil- Paper Affair

Hi Friends,

For past one month, was playing religiously along Kathy Racoosin’s, the dailymarker30day coloring challenge.

I played all 30 days and i absolutely love that “Me time”. Its such a calming effect Totally therapeutic!

Shared here few of my works…Few i did in parts, layer by layer each day and even took 3 days to complete an image. Yet its such a learning!!

Hope you like it as much as i love doing it!!

Hang in there! – CAS card

Hi Friends,

Am here today with a card, which have been coloring for past 3 days…Yeah..adding colors layer by layer in bits…Coloring on kraft cardstock is such a learning and i absolutely enjoyed this learning process.

  • Beautiful digi is from Powerpoppy’s Magnolia Sunshine.
  • Printed on to a backing sheet of packaging (5×7″)
  • As its a packaging sheet and not exact cardstock for coloring, its pretty challenging to layer the colors. Yet its such a learning.
  • Colored this using Prisma colored pencils.
  • Trimmed and matted on to light kraft colored A2 top fold cardbase, with vellum as backing.
  • The sentiment is added directly on to the card front and a beautiful sentiment on inside too with  a bit of those florals peeking in.
  • Absolutely loved working with this digi set and the uplifting sentiments 🙂
Hope you too like it!!
Happy Coloring!

Beautiful day!

Hi Friends,

Am back again today with a simple card using today’s coloring for Kathyrac’s 30day coloring challenge. Today is 10th day and am happy as am able to color all these 10 days religiously!!

Over to today’s card.

  • Took a A2 sized kraft cardbase.
  • Embossed the front side using WRMK 3D embossing folder
  • Inked a oval mdf cutout with blank ink.
  • Stamped the altenew florals from “Remember this” stampset using Altenew inkcube – Jet black and colored using Prisma coloring pencils.
  • Fussy cut it using Fiskar titanium blade scissors.
  • Assembled on top of oval mdfcut with cheesecloth and lace layerings.
  • Tugged spring moss behind the florals for the fullness.
  • Sprinkled artstones randomly.
  • Finally added yellow rhinestones as accents.
  • Sentiment from Peony bouquet stampset is added on a ivory cardstock, mounted onto the cardbase.
Hope you like it!
Made this card especially for the ongoing altenew challenge. The Oh-so-beautiful color palette made me to plunge into this challenge!

Snowman & Penguins

Hi Friends!

Today am sharing a new digital image coloring, which is a special edition by Whimsy Stamps. This is my first stamp of this brand in my stash.

Last month joined Kit and Clowder, to nurture my coloring interest. Felt to improvise with a right dose of Amazing guidance.

Alyce Keegan, owner of this Online coloring Classes. Her guidance is such amazing and it made me to shed off my coloring inhibitions. This is my first ever image to color other than Florals.

Have shared WIP shots in my instagram and FB. Sharing there to record in my blog too 🙂

End of first two hours 🙂

End of next 2 hours:

Final 3 hours

Yup…that’s the pace at which i colored. 5×7″ size image…Colored using my new Prisma colored pencils. Total 7 hours, to build color by color, layer by layer and to flatten the final layers. Worth the efforts. I love the way the image pops up here…

Hope to laminate this or to make a winter wishes card!

Just don’t doubt your capabilities…Just dive in to find your interest and nurture it rightly. It takes you to the way you need to be 🙂

Happy to inspire the souls out there…

Happy Coloring 🙂

Hugs xo

Sathya

Beautiful day!

Hi Crafty pals,

Made this card for Altenew’s Year in review Challenge .

I have chosen June 2016 for Today’s project, as i wanna play along that challenge and couldn’t do due to my Vacation in June. At last had a chance to play now.

Am much inspired by the lovely colors, all those sparkles, Gorgeous blooms…

  • Took a half white A2 cardbase.
  • Stenciled with Prima Poppy stencil with Prima Lightpaste and sprinkled Stampendous White jewelkit chunky white Embossing powder and heat set it.
  • Just to mimic that all those touches of sparkle in the Inspiration pic.
  • Stamped Beautiful day stampset on watercolor paper, colored using Zig clean color brush pens, and fussy cut all florals leaves and infloresence clusters.
  • Just to give a fabric touch, added a White Tulle.
  • Onto which, Prima resin frame added, for all those dimension and layerings. It was totally lost sight due to the floral spray arrangement.
  • Few clear droplets are added as final touch.
  • Sentiment stamped on vellum and added on to the card.
Hope you like it!
