Celebrate Life -Mixed Media Canvas

Hey Hi Friends!

Mixed media canvas tutorial …This i have shared in Mudra blog as CT inspiration few days before and again blogging here for my blog followers 🙂

(***This canvas is not initially intended for a pictorial, so kindly bear poor quality pics. Complied to make with my WIP pics taken on phone cam ***)

  • 5×7″ primed canvas is taken (This is a good choice sizewise. Lesser/greater than this size would be bit tough to handle for a newbie)
  • This MM canvas is completely mists-free project 😉 🙂 means no mists/sprays are used in the process of making it.
  • Apply Wendy Veicchi Embossing paste (Translucent) in the canvas using palette knife leaving a central portion. This creates a frosty spikes, when pouncing against the surface. It dries up fast, so avoid using heat gun.

  • Translucent Emb.Paste has a natural sheen and shine, so after drying it gives such nice texturous sheen all over.
  • Meanwhile take 2 ply facial tissues (or those without textures) and stamp Vintagy fluorish stamps using archival black ink.

  • After canvas completely dried, similar to decoupage techniques, put these stamped facial tissues over canvas sides, using Ranger -multimatte medium. (This acts as seal, glue, and as image transfer also). Allow it to air dry.

  • Using Ranger-multi matte medium, stick a cheesecloth to the central portion of the canvas. Let it air dry. (*Refer pic above)
  • Take metallic gelatos of colors – Teal, Dark blue and apply on those frosty spikes of the Emb.paste. It just magically slides in the grooves. If needed, slightly mist your fingers with water and smooth it over the spiky textures.
  • The colors magically blends as such.
  • Prima Art alchemy paint-Steampunk mixed with Emb.paste and stenciled out, using TCW microbial in a circular fashion, on the central portion of canvas leaving the cheesecloth area.
  • Meanwhile stamp the Large butterfly from Butterfly flutters stamp set, using Archival ink and color it using metallic gelatos – Purple, Dark blue, Pink. And heat emboss it, using Ranger UTEE clear embossing powder twice. This gives a beautiful embellishment kind – Butterfly to use as focal element 🙂

  • Take any resin embellishment  -Square/rectangle/circle (or make one using moulds/chipboard), mine is a square resin, colored randomly using Prima Art alchemy -Rose gold opal magic and glued it down on Cheesecloth using foam adhesive and hotglue gun.
  • Add 2 crisscrossed piece of cheesecloth on resin embellishment using Ranger mm medium and also around resin embellishment area and pour generously Prima mini art stones.
  • And after drying, sponge on Rose gold art alchemy paint randomly on it and apply even on the sides of the canvas.

  • Glue down Embossed butterfly on the resin using hotglue gun.
  • “Celebrate life” are taken from Brushed sentiments stampset. Stamped using Black archival ink, sponged using purple gelatos and rose gold Prima art alchemy. Fussy cut it and Heat emboss those using UTEE clear Embossing powder and make some embossed glossy sentiments 🙂
  • Sentiment is popped using foam adhesives.

Hope you liked this simple MM canvas.

Guest Designer at Inkspirational!

Hi Friends!

Few days before, Guest designed at Inkspirational challenges.

A card inspired by the word prompt

I just love making this card as CAS nor inking/sponging is “not” my forte.

Stamped Kaisercraft stone stamp and heat embossed using Black Ranger embossing powder. And Prima texture stamp used for all those textures. Sponged tumbled glass and Rusty hinge to get the desired effect.

The wildflowers, Technique tuesday stamps are stamped using Black archival ink. The sentiment is computer generated. Fussy cut, edges sponged with same inks and popped using foam adhesives.

Flowers!!!

Oh yeah…Officially Spring has sprung is many parts of world 🙂

Am still cherishing the wonderful Spring season, which i had experienced in Taiwan…Oh yeah! My love wedded life started there in 2008 March…with a perfect Spring start 🙂 So those memories are etched in heart with cherry blossoms and apple blossoms and their sweet aromas.

Its a happy custom from my end, to gift my Son’s class teacher with a handmade gift every year at Final Open House Meeting…This time too, made a Floral LO (gone for framing) and a small post it note holder. You can check my previous year handmade gifts here and here .

Mam has sent me few pics last year and i made those as a collage. I just wanted to make this a sweet remembrance. Am forever grateful to her and blessed beyond words to have her as my son’s class teacher. She has 45+ years of experience in teaching and she is one great asset to the whole school.

8×8 pp used for the floral layout. Floral spray is made completely handmade. Am missing these quite a while. I love to do handmade florals and atlast used this opportunity to do handmade blooms. Cheerylynn Tearose medium die used to make the small blooms. MFT petal party is used to make the yellow flowers. Joycraft dies are used for big roses. Flowers sponged, dry embossed, shaped to make Roses.
All leaves are from cheerylynn ivy florish. They are colored using Distress ink – peeled paint and versafine pearlescent olive chalk inks.
3×3 inch post it note is used for the post it note holder. Its decorated with a cherrylynn italian doily and topped with handmade florals.
Am yet to gift her. Hope she likes it 🙂

Floral Tag :)

Hi Friends!!

Monthly inspiration at ICR for today with the theme Anything goes with Flowers!!! Does it feel like Spring!!! The twist is “No cards”, We invite all entries with tags, 3 D projects, envelopes etc.,

My take on this time Storyboard is a Tag creation !

Made 4 diecuts using TH largest tag dies, one with a thick chipboard and other 3 in patterned papers. Took 2 green pps and pasted on either side of the chipboard tags and trimmed a little, in yellow tag diecut, so as to layer the green tag diecut.

Big blooms are made using cheerylynn designs Gardenia die, and rest are store bought ones. Spellbinders leaf foliage dies are used for the leaves which are sponged with crushed olive and peeled DIs and shaped using wet embossing technique. A biege color ribbon added to the bottom end of the tag and the top end of it is stencilled using TCW stencil with momento rich cocoa ink.

Floral spray is mounted on a Spellbinders a2 divine eloquence diecut which is sponged with momento toffee crunch at the edges. Near to it a red diecut from cheerylynn designs added in red. A pale green raffia bow and a stamped, clear embossed IBS butterfly is added near it.

IBS sweet valentine sentiment is added to a small banner which is sponged with momento toffee crunch at edges and random pale green tiny ink splotches.

Hope you like it!

Do play along the challenge and win exciting prize from our sponsor, Krafter’s cart 500 Rs GC.

Flowers!!!

Hi Friends!!

Today’s post is about a card using my new stampset from Altenew. Its my most favorite stampset – Lacy scrolls. Its my first ever purchase of stampset and of course, first ever entry for their monthly challenge 🙂

This is the card for the Feb challenge at Altenew – From places abroad, Cyprus.

The inspiration pic below for my card 🙂

I took inspiration from the colors in the pic.

To interpret the wall with rustic look, i took a cream colored texured cs and smooshed Momento Toffee crunch inkpad directly on the cs vertically. It take the look of what i expected.

Then for the iron wrought designs on door, i took a royal blue cs, diecut the swirly frame using Marianne designs frame die.

Then for the mid design of the door, took Lacy scrolls stamp set, flowers were stamped using black archival ink on a cream cs and leaves, swirls using momento tuxedo black. Then fussy cut and mounted using foam adhesives on the blue frame.

Just a bit of shimmer needed for which wink of stella clear is used on the whole stamped floral spray. Below pic will show the subtle shimmer on the petals 🙂 (Hard to capture though!)

IBS Sentiment was stamped on a cream cs and fussy cut and mounted on blue frame using foam adhesive.

Hope you like this simple card using my fave stampset 🙂

Happy Birthday!!!

Today’s card is for a dear Crafty soul who is professionally a Physician and Passionately an Artist 🙂 Always in awe with her creativity…

Rhizwana Fathima

                           “A Very Happpppy Birthday Dear”

She loved my recent heart shaker cards. So made a super simple CAS kind shaker card for her.
Used a white front panel, stenciled Stamplorations heart all over stencil using Momento Lady bug ink. Added the IO heart shaker pouch with few red heart and mini golden star sequins on front panel.
IBS birthday sentiment on Vellum strip using Black archival ink and added peach heart gemstones to finish off the card. This added onto the red A2 sized cardbase.

Hope she likes this simple card which i loaded with hearts 🙂

Bloom in Love :)

Hi Friends!!

We have come up with second inspiration for TicTacToe challenge with a Mandala twist at ICR.
Do hop in to see the wonderful DT inspirations.

Inspiration card for this fortnight is a super simple card 🙂

Story board for this challenge : I have used top diagonal ( sparkle/bling- Love sentiment – Stiching)

A black cardbase with top fold, is taken and to it, matted a fog colored cs, which is cut using Spellbinders A2 Matting basic dies.

Had the mandala sticker and floral sticker for a while now and thought would be so apt for this challenge.

Stamped Heroarts florish stamp on the fog cs using Color box – white frost pigment ink. Left a while to dry and stuck the stickers.

Quite a thought of what sentiment would be apt here. This IBS Sentiment would be apt for the season and  for the floral sticker, fluorish in bg. Its stamped on a piece of vellum using Black archival ink and few heart pearls are added.

Bobunny stitches stamp set used for those faux stitches look and few pearls to top it.

This finishes off my card!

Hope you like it and play along the challenge!
